Revisiting the Dollhouse Miniature Ranunculus Flower

I first made the dollhouse miniature ranunculus flower back in 2012! You can read about that here and here.
Recently, I had the opportunity to revisit this flower, when a customer of mine requested for a custom bouquet of flowers and she requested for some ranunculus flowers.

One of the earlier shots when I first started this project. The pink planter wasn't distressed and there weren't other flowers.

And after I made the pink planter, I found it extremely handy to just place all the different colored flowers in there, as I could see what I was making.

That alone gave me an idea. The random stalks of flowers sitting in a planter actually looks pretty nice! Don't you think so? So I think that is my next project. I've been doing many bouquets, but I think this "messy" looking concept is pretty interesting too.

My customer didn't request for a work in progress photo. But after I took these photos, I wanted to share it with her. I was pleased with the colors. I never knew a photo could make someone happy. I am glad I sent it to her. :) Bringing someone joy through the work we do can truly be the best gifts we bring to the world. I believe in that.

Have a wonderful week all!

Dollhouse Cake - Peach Flower Naked Cake

This week, I continued experimenting with the peach color theme. The cake bases were made a while back, but I have been brainstorming for decorating ideas for a while and didn't come up with an idea until recently.

Since I was still obsessed with the peach color, I decided to go on with this color theme.

And I came up with this dollhouse cake!

It goes perfectly well with the trio peach cakes that I have made prior to this.

An example of a peach theme wedding dessert table. I am loving this! :)

As I am typing this, I'm also in the midst of making 1 more decoration item that goes along with this theme...
Am I crazy or what? I hope to show the pics soon when I have taken it.

Ending this post with a photo of the dollhouse peach flower naked cake in my hand!

Have a great week all! :)

Decorating cake with lace

This week, while I attempted to make another miniature cake, I also tried decorating cake with lace.

While the process is more time consuming, as I needed to wait for the lace to dry, but I'm loving the end results.

I can't believe this is the first time I'm trying lace cake designs. It is in the rage, probably for a long time now and you get tons of inspiration ideas if you search in google!

Many people have also asked how to make laces even and straight. I'll come up with a tutorial soon! It's not difficult, but as always, you need patience.

Laces does make your cake design more intricate.

I also want to try a slightly darker cake color, so that the lace design can be more prominent.

I like to make little changes each time to make things interesting, it also makes me feel like I'm evolving.

Can't wait to see how my next cake turn out...

Have a beautiful weekend all! :)

Revisiting The Three Tier Buttermilk Vanilla Wedding Cake

It's been a while since I revisited making the dollhouse miniature three tier buttermilk vanilla wedding cake. This one was sold as soon as I listed it today. And so, while I'm still loving this particular color scheme, I can go on and make another. :)

I love how pretty the colors go hand in hand. I can never get tired of looking at these colors.

And of course, I had to take a shot with my hand in it.
